Fellow Member/s Supporters
We are pleased to report a very busy couple of weeks.
A great Melbourne Cup Day – fully booked out, a very successful presentation and excellent meals and bar service.
Special thanks to Sue Finch, our Functions Co-ordinator for arranging the programme and bookings, to Steve Nassaris and his staff for superb meals, which attracted so many positive reviews, to Alan Hall our MC for the day (pity about the outfit!) and to Wayne and the bar staff for putting up with us all, Dave Pocock for running the sweeps and to our volunteers who helped with serving and cleaning up afterwards. We look forward to next year without COVID restrictions when we will be able fill the clubrooms.
Our General Meeting last week was well attended, and we thank everyone for their continued support. We are pleased to report increased membership, a stable financial situation, and some positive news from PAE Council regarding their future maintenance plan for the Clubrooms. Despite all the COVID setbacks we are well on track for a bright future.
We also commemorated Remembrance Day on Wednesday, the 102nd Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice on 11 November 1918. COVID restrictions did not allow us to
conduct the Ceremony at the Foreshore Memorial, but over 60 members and their families gathered in the Clubrooms to pay tribute to our fallen service men and women.
We would like to thank our Vice President Daryl Mundy for arranging the Service and to the Reverend Ian Hunter for hosting the day in what was a moving tribute to those who have, and still are serving our Country.
Special thanks to the Staff and Students from LeFevre High and LeFevre Primary Schools for their attendance, contribution, and interest
The Service was followed by a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Foreshore Memorial, which attracted several members of our Community who took the time to pay their respects.
“We Will Remember Them”
Kind Regards
Your Committee
